About WKLY

WKLY is the only radio station in Hart County serving the Lake Hartwell area and the surronding areas in Northeast Georgia and Upstate South Carolina since 1947. WKLY is the exclusive voice of Hart County High School sports including football and basketball. WKLY also has the regional broadcast rights for University of Georgia football and basketball for Hart and the surronding counties including parts of Upstate of South Carolina. We try to highlight Hart County as much as possible since WKLY is the only radio station in the county.

On Tuesdays at 7:45 am, we have Hart County School Superintendent Jerry Bell to talk about school news, on Wednesday at 7:45 am we have Hart County Clerk of Court Frankie Gray to inform us about court news, On Thursday at 7:45 am we have Hartwell Police Chief Cecil Reno to talk about Hartwell city law enforcement news, and on Friday we have the Hart County Sheriff’s report with sheriff Mike Cleveland at 6:50 am to inform us about law enforcement news Hart County wide. We also focus on local calender events happening in our area. WKLY does local death announcements twice daily everyday. We have a 30-minute LIVE call-in “Swap Shop” at 9:30 am Monday through Friday in which people call in as far as Gainesville to put an item for sale on the air. Our local news coverage is outstanding with Georgia Association of Broadcasters (GAB) award winning on-air personality and news director Mike Atkins whose been here at WKLY for 27-years.
